The Drawing Room
Our stunning drawing room can hold up to 120 guests seated. The peacock green walls, polished wooden floor, chandeliers and antique oak doors and shutters give the drawing room a traditional yet grand feel. Antique bronze statues, a grand piano and log burner add to the intimacy and grandeur of the space.
Two entrance doors provide options for your ceremony to take place with either the backdrop of the piano or regency fireplace. Flowers and decorations can be used throughout to personalise the room to your day and we can advise on chair hire to complement your theme and the surroundings.
The Spiral Staircase
The oak spiral staircase is a special feature of Calthwaite Hall and provides a romantic and intimate ceremony space for up to 35 guests. Nowhere else in England can this type and design of staircase be found and the house is Grade 2 listed due to this unique and extraordinary piece of woodwork.
The highly polished staircase and ancient flagstone floor provide a perfect setting for a smaller ceremony. The giant glass dome above the stairs provides an abundance of natural light for perfect pictures and every wedding couple at Calthwaite Hall take a cherished picture of them embracing on the stairs.
We take pride in working closely with our local church to offer our couples the opportunity of a Church of England ceremony should they wish. The church is stone throw away from the main gate of Calthwaite Hall and is a traditional village sandstone building with impressive internal wood beams and stained glass windows. The church has a capacity for up to 120, but watch out as the local children have a tradition of tying the gate until the bridal couple give up some cash to get out.
